Finding a cat stud?
by admin on Apr.22, 2009, under Cats
I work for a company here in Chicago that trains domestic cats to perform in Acro-Cat shows across the country. The owner also happens to be a great friend of mine. Well, two of our most brilliant cats had a litter and I was given a kitten…and this little lady is jaw-dropping smart and has mastered 12 tricks in only 6 months.
After careful consideration, I have decided to breed Pandora (my kitten) eventually, and keep half or all of her kittens (depending on the wishes of the stud owner). These kittens would trained for showbiz and brought to Acro-Cat shows. I have a lot of experience with training and proper socialization, and have no qualms about keeping a kitten strictly as a housepet if it doesn’t want to perform.
Since all males at our facility have been neutered, where do I find a suitable stud?
I’m NOT breeding for sales.
Pandora is a Ragdoll mix and is NOT a pedigree. I am aware of the world’s “unwanted kitten” sitution, so please don’t preach.
Daniel – I’ve tried looking online, but the only ones willing to provide a stud are professional breeders. Thus, they won’t breed with my cat since she’s a mix. Maybe Craigslist?
